We would like to thank you for supporting Leah in this year's competition. Your support enables our company to contribute to the Veterans Yoga Project, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization supporting recovery and resilience among our veterans, families, and communities.

What does Yoga mean to you / how does Yoga enhance your life?

The past 7 years of my life have been a process of stitching myself back together after an incredibly volatile abusive relationship. I was broken and lost and felt like damaged goods. Yoga helped me find the inner resilience, light, and self-worth I thought had died so many years ago. Yoga to me means renewal and awakening to our true selves.

What words or mantra do you live by?

"Embrace the process." The first time I heard this, I was walking on Kamuning Road tugging an itchy polyester uniform with a shirt too short, pants too tight, and shoes too small. I was at the start of a two-year-commitment to teach in Metro Manila. My ill-fitting uniform was the cherry-on-top of all my internal discomforts weathering the waves of culture shock. What will you do with the $10,000?

With the $10,000, I will enlist professional services to help grow my business, further my yoga education, and work towards my dream of owning and operating a holistic health space for families. I will reserve part of the the $10,000 to offer free yoga to those in-need in order to make yoga more accessible to all who are called to it. I will donate the rest to the non-profit I worked for in the Philippines that taught me the meaning of "embrace the process".
